XRP is trading near $1.30 as Standard Chartered maintains its long-term price target of $28 by 2030, even after the bank reduced its near-term forecast. The target would require XRP to rise by more than 2,000% from current levels, with its market capitalization approaching $1.8 trillion using today’s circulating supply.
Standard Chartered’s Geoffrey Kendrick lowered the bank’s 2026 XRP price target to $2.80 earlier this year while retaining the $28 forecast. The revised roadmap projects XRP at $7 in 2027, $12.60 in 2028, and $19.60 in 2029. At the time of the report, XRP traded at $1.31, up 1.49% over 24 hours.
Institutional demand has supported the asset as U.S. spot XRP ETFs have accumulated 1.2 billion XRP since launching. Standard Chartered’s bullish case for XRP depends on institutional participation, regulatory clarity, broader blockchain payment adoption, and sustained buying pressure.
Ripple’s escrow system continues releasing XRP, creating a potential imbalance between institutional demand and available supply. The $28 long-term target would place XRP among the world’s largest financial assets, requiring substantial growth in adoption and liquidity to support that valuation.
