Wallet, meet trading floor: Leap puts tokenized stocks and crypto in your pocket

Solana Labs launched a beta of Leap, a mobile trading app that lets users trade tokenized stocks, ETFs, metals, currencies and crypto in one place around the clock, subject to restrictions. The app is available in early access on iPhone through Apple’s public TestFlight program, with an Android version coming soon. It is not available in the U.K. or other restricted regions.

Built by the team behind Dialect, which Solana Labs acquired earlier this year, Leap also draws on Dialect’s development of Solana Actions and Blinks, a protocol that turns blockchain transactions into shareable links and launched in 2024, and the cashtags feature on X. Users enter an amount in dollars and each trade executes as an onchain swap, with Jupiter handling trade routing, Helius providing infrastructure and Birdeye supplying market data. Leap is not charging its own fees at launch, although network and routing costs apply.

“The Solana blockchain now confirms a trade in about 150 milliseconds thanks to Alpenglow, so the network is now faster than ever,” said Chris Osborn, Leap’s general manager and Dialect’s founder. Alpenglow is a consensus overhaul designed to sharply reduce Solana’s confirmation times. “Every app that brings new people onchain makes the whole ecosystem stronger,” said Solana Labs co-founder and CEO Anatoly Yakovenko.

Leap tracks profit and loss across deposits, withdrawals, trades and fees, including each position’s breakeven price. Its research team curates market-moving news and pins each story to the price chart at the moment it broke. The company plans to use future fees to buy and burn SOL, permanently removing tokens from circulation, and fund a referral program under which early waitlist members in the Founders Club would earn 30% of trading fees generated by users they invite and 5% from those users’ own referrals.

Samsung Wallet also began offering stablecoin accounts on Thursday for eligible U.S. Galaxy users, allowing them to buy, hold, send and receive Circle’s USDC on the Solana blockchain without downloading a separate crypto app or managing private keys. The feature reaches about 82 million compatible Galaxy devices in the U.S., according to Samsung’s announcement, which included the partial statement, “For a decade, stablecoins have proved t...” Tokenized stocks are gaining traction across Solana and other markets, with Securitize bringing tokenized Nvidia, Apple and Amazon shares to Solana, while 56 companies have objected to having their shares traded on OKX and ICE’s planned tokenized stock venue.
