Chainalysis Says AI Agents Went Digging, But $BTC Users Can Keep Their Eggs in the Wallet 🕵️

Blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis confirmed on Friday that it suffered a cyberattack in which hackers used agentic AI to gain unauthorized access to its systems and internal tools.

The breach exposed non-sensitive customer information, including user IDs, full names, email addresses and organization role labels. Chainalysis said the compromised data did not include investigation content, authentication credentials or session tokens, and its investigation found no evidence of unauthorized access to those materials.

Chainalysis said its team is working with leading cybersecurity experts to investigate the unauthorized activity, patch vulnerabilities and harden its systems. The company also said it had proactively notified affected customers.

The security incident is unrelated to the $6.3 billion Binance hack, according to Chainalysis.
