Sony’s $SONEIUM Brings PlayStation-Style Energy to On-Chain Entertainment

Soneium, the blockchain ecosystem associated with Sony Group’s Web3 strategy, plans to introduce its native ecosystem coin, $SONEIUM on October 26, aiming to connect entertainment intellectual property, creators, developers, fans, and investors through an on-chain economy. The network already supports more than 250 applications across gaming, music, anime, film, collectibles, and fan creations.

Soneium announced the initiative in a social media post on October 26, 2026: “Soneium: The Onchain entertainment economy. Today we introduce Tokenized IP and our plan to issue $SONEIUM , an ecosystem-native token that connects our global community.” Its next phase focuses on tokenized IP, including potential new funding models for creators and rights holders while giving fans opportunities to support entertainment properties.

The first project will be Moriusa, a character IP from Tokyo-based entertainment group Super State Holdings. Soneium also plans to work with K-pop IP company DayOneDream to tokenize concert-business royalties, extending the ecosystem beyond gaming and into music-related intellectual property.

Soneium’s planned products include IP Vault, which would provide indirect access to entertainment investment opportunities, and IP Bond. The initiative positions $SONEIUM as a connection between entertainment businesses and communities that want to participate in their growth.
