Strategy’s preferred stocks are now earning dividends every day of the year

—By our Markets Desk3 min read

Strategy shareholders approved amendments allowing $STRF, $STRC, $STRK and $STRD to accrue dividends every calendar day, including weekends and holidays, with 99.3% of votes cast in favor at the company’s October 28, 2026 special meeting. Executive Chairman Michael Saylor wrote: “$MSTR shareholders have approved the Daily Dividends amendment. Preliminary results show 99.3% of votes cast were in favor. The amendment enables $STRF, $STRC, $STRK and $STRD to accrue dividends every calendar day. Thank you to all who voted. https://t.co/w1Cp4GKUy5”

Preliminary results showed 381.36 million votes in favor, equal to 63.69% of total voting power available, while about 2.23 million shareholders opposed the proposal and 444,752 abstained. The change still requires Strategy to file amended terms for each security. It moves STRC from 24 record dates a year to 365 while leaving the annual dividend rates unchanged; the company’s preferred stocks carry rates ranging from 8% to 12%, with $STRC’s variable rate currently set at 12%. $STRK also remains convertible into Strategy common stock.

Under the revised schedule, each calendar day becomes a record date and dividends are paid on the next business day. $STRC’s first record date is November 1, followed by payment on November 2. $STRF, $STRK and $STRD will record their first dividends on January 1, 2027, with payment scheduled for January 4, 2027. Because U.S. markets close on weekends, weekend and holiday dividends will be grouped: record dates on Friday, November 6, Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8 will all be treated as Friday, November 6, with payment on Monday, November 9. The Depository Trust Company and Nasdaq will use the same treatment for record and ex-dividend dates, although handling may differ for shares traded outside Nasdaq or held through some brokers.

Following approval, MSTR fell 1.13% to $139.81, while STRC gained 0.36% to $99.85; Yahoo Finance separately reported that STRC traded at $99.86 on Wednesday, just below its $100 par value. Last week, Strategy paused its Bitcoin purchases for the first time since mid-September and spent $204.9 million on $STRC buybacks. The company is also facing possible removal from MSCI indexes after the provider finalized a rule treating companies with balance sheets dominated by a single asset as ineligible; MSCI plans to publish the affected-company list on November 11.

Fellow Bitcoin treasury company Strive introduced daily cash dividends on its SATA preferred stock in June and has scheduled daily payments for SATS to begin Nov. 9, subject to declaration. Strive closed a $630 million SATS offering on Oct. 20, selling 7 million shares at $90 each, with proceeds eligible for Bitcoin purchases and other corporate purposes. Strategy remains the largest publicly traded corporate Bitcoin holder with 848,517 BTC, while Strive ranks fourth with 43,000 BTC, according to BitcoinTreasuries.net.
