CFB Oracle goes onchain, putting Wall Street benchmarks squarely in DeFi’s court
CF Benchmarks introduced CFB Oracle on Oct 27, 2026, making the pricing indices used by BlackRock and CME Group available to blockchain-based financial applications. Owned by Kraken parent Payward, the company said the service provides benchmarks covering cryptocurrencies, stocks, bonds, commodities and currencies to developers building onchain financial products.
CF Benchmarks’ indices underpin BlackRock’s bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) and CME Group’s crypto futures, and are used by products representing more than $120 billion in assets, according to the company. Developers can use CFB Oracle to build onchain index funds, tokenized portfolios and derivatives without developing their own pricing systems.
CFB Oracle is available on Ethereum ETH $2 490,55, HyperEVM and Robinhood Chain, with plans to support other compatible networks. The data is digitally signed, allowing applications to verify that prices came from CF Benchmarks and have not been altered. The company also publishes each index at the same frequency for all customers rather than charging for faster access.
Blockchain-based funds holding tokenized stocks can use the benchmarks to calculate portfolio values, while lending platforms accepting tokenized bonds as collateral can use the data to determine borrowing amounts and when positions should be liquidated.
Payward plans to use CFB Oracle to supply pricing data for a U.S. perpetual futures offering powered by Hyperliquid (HYPE), pending regulatory approval. The launch places CF Benchmarks in competition with oracle providers Chainlink LINK $12,64 and Pyth as financial firms expand traditional investment products through decentralized finance (DeFi).
