Coinbase’s EEA exit clock: 14 tokens out by October 30—or auto-converted

Coinbase has given European Economic Area retail users three days to withdraw 14 crypto assets before an October 30 deadline, with remaining balances set for automatic conversion under the exchange’s updated European guidance.

The restricted assets are USDT, PYUSD, USD1, DAI and PAXG, along with PAX, GUSD, GYEN, BUST, UST, RAI, MUSD, USDS and TGBP. The tokens come from several issuers, including Tether, PayPal and Trump-linked World Liberty Financial. Coinbase has already halted purchases, sales and conversions of the affected assets for impacted retail users in the EEA. Customers who wish to keep the assets must move them to supported external wallets before the deadline; deposits made after the deadline will not be credited, and Coinbase cannot guarantee asset recovery.

“Any remaining impacted tokens will be converted to USDC at market rates on October 30, if applicable,” Coinbase said. If USDC is unavailable, the exchange will choose another supported cryptocurrency or currency for the conversion. The process will happen only once, and balances may temporarily decrease while Coinbase completes it.

Coinbase will then add the conversion to the account’s history and increase the balance in the replacement asset. Revolut, another European platform, also cut access to USDT after the MiCA July deadline.
