Ripple’s RLUSD Rides the Robinhood Express as HOOD Pops Over 3%
Robinhood stock (HOOD) gained over 3% to trade at $96 after the company announced a partnership with Ripple to expand RLUSD adoption across retail and institutional trading platforms. HOOD was also up 1.85% ahead of Q3 earnings as analysts raised price targets and revenue forecasts and monitored trading revenue and business expansion.
On Tuesday, Ripple said RLUSD will be a major stablecoin in Robinhood’s retail and institutional operations. The stablecoin has already launched on Robinhood Chain and Bitstamp and will be supported by the Robinhood app later this year. The partnership will also let Robinhood use RLUSD on the XRP Ledger for institutional settlement with Bitstamp, extending the token beyond a retail trading medium into institutional payment functions.
Robinhood will implement Ripple Treasury for automated cash forecasting, liquidity management, payments, risk controls and intercompany netting. The integration aligns with Ripple’s recent launch of its 24/7 treasury platform, which combines AI capabilities with corporate cash management.
The announcement follows an existing partnership between Ripple Prime and Bitstamp as Ripple Prime expands institutional trading through Bitstamp. Together, the Ripple integrations bring RLUSD, treasury management and institutional trading services into Robinhood’s financial operations.
