HTX Adds a Russia Clause After Bitget and MEXC’s October Move 🚫

Crypto exchange HTX added Russia to its restricted jurisdictions list, limiting trading and other services for users located in or accessing the platform from Russia. The move follows Bitget and MEXC, which announced plans in October to discontinue services in the country.

HTX’s updated User Agreement applies the restrictions to users in Russia as well as companies registered there or conducting the bulk of their business in the country. The exchange reserves the right to restrict access to its products, limit withdrawals and close accounts belonging to restricted users.

HTX has not disclosed when the restrictions took effect, whether affected accounts are being suspended or any deadline for affected users. Russia joins the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Singapore, Hong Kong, Iran and Syria on HTX’s restricted jurisdictions list, with some jurisdictions facing additional requirements for derivative trading.

HTX said the list may be adjusted as regulations and its services evolve across different regions. Its User Agreement allows changes without notifying individual users, who are responsible for reviewing the updated terms for the platform.
