XRP glows up to 8.24 million wallets while $1.30 brings the plot twist

The XRP Ledger reached a record 8.24 million non-empty wallets, according to Santiment Intelligence data published on October 22, 2026, with 4,772 new addresses added in a single day—the fifth-largest daily surge since March. The Santiment report came with XRP near $1.36, while a subsequent BeInCrypto Markets snapshot showed the token at $1.31.

Santiment said the sustained wallet growth through months of price swings suggested new entrants were actively joining the network rather than existing holders simply reshuffling funds. Wallet counts do not necessarily represent people, as one user or exchange can control multiple addresses. XRP was down 17.21% over the past month to $1.31 and down 2.59% over the past day, leaving it less than 1% above $1.30 and about 7% below $1.40.

Large holders sent $112.4 million worth of XRP to Binance, the most in 7 months, according to analyst Darkfost. BeInCrypto reported that the move signaled rising selling pressure. XRP exchange reserves were also near the 99th percentile of the past year, at 11.81 billion.

Spot XRP ETFs took in $4.25 million so far this week, according to SoSoValue data, after a $1.84 million outflow in the preceding week that followed 13 straight weeks of inflows. Over the past four weeks, the funds added $18.5 million, while the week ending September 25 brought in $75.6 million. Total net assets fell to $1.49 billion from $1.77 billion on September 25 as cumulative inflows remained nearly flat.

Santiment said a drop below $1.30 would weaken the adoption signal, particularly if daily new wallets fell under roughly 3,000. For the upside case, the firm said: “$1.40 is the first level to watch. A sustained move above it while network growth stays near or above 4K daily wallets would mean a quick return to $1.50 is more than plausible,” it wrote.
