FUZZY in the Kitchen: Schwartz Unboxes Cards Without a Known Sender
Ripple CTO Emeritus David Schwartz showed off a box of trading cards for FUZZY, an XRP meme coin, on X on October 22, 2026, while saying he did not know who had sent them. “Opening fuzzy cards in my kitchen. I'm not sure who gifted these to me. @fuzzy_xrp ? But thank you!” he wrote, displaying the unboxing in his kitchen and thanking the FUZZY account with a question mark.
Listed as Fuzzybear (FUZZY), the token trades on the XRP Ledger and takes its name from Fuzzybear, one of the network’s earliest wallets, dating back to the XRP Ledger’s launch. The cards belong to Fuzzycards, a trading card game tied to the token. According to the team, each card NFT can be redeemed for a physical booster pack of five cards, while each hero card carries a riddle drawn from XRP Ledger history.
BeInCrypto price-performance data showed FUZZY more than doubling over the past week, with the sharpest jump coming on October 20, two days before Schwartz’s post. XRPScan data ranked the token’s XRP pair as the third-largest automated market maker (AMM) pool on the XRP Ledger, with about $992,000 in liquidity. Only the XRP pairs with CRYPTO and RLUSD, Ripple’s stablecoin, hold more. AMM pools allow traders to swap tokens against shared reserves rather than an order book.
Earlier this year, Schwartz opened a trust line for FUZZY, a wallet setting that lets a user hold an asset issued on the XRP Ledger, and called the step routine. Days later, he said treating memecoins as investments felt distasteful to him. Schwartz spent much of May insisting that he did not endorse the token, and his switch to a FUZZY profile picture drew criticism because changing an avatar involves no technical step.
This month, Schwartz debated XRP Ledger lending plans, while a selfie he posted in front of a billboard featuring actress Sydney Sweeney also spread widely. His FUZZY post did not address the token’s price or his earlier view of memecoins. In September, he said XRP could overtake Bitcoin by market capitalization one day.
