XRP’s $1.40 encore flops as over $220 million in crypto longs get liquidated and XRPL eyes November

—By our Markets Desk1 min read

XRP fell below $1.35 after an attempted recovery toward $1.40 lost momentum, while more than $220 million in crypto long positions were liquidated over 12 hours. The expected activation of an XRP Ledger network maintenance update was pushed into November after a setback in validator support.

The broader crypto market also came under renewed selling pressure, with Bitcoin and Ethereum dropping toward $81,000 and $2,300, respectively. Crypto Liquidation and Coinglass were cited for the liquidation data.

XRP had climbed toward $1.40 a few hours earlier before reversing through the $1.38 and $1.36 areas and approaching $1.33. The token was down 2% over 24 hours but remained up 1.1% over seven days.

A sharp decline can force leveraged traders to close long positions when collateral becomes insufficient, adding selling pressure and accelerating losses. Amid the price reversal, liquidations and uncertainty over the XRPL upgrade, the $1.30 area was the immediate level under scrutiny.
