Deutsche Bank is banking on crypto custody: Germany in weeks, Asia in 2027 🏦
Deutsche Bank is preparing to launch a cryptocurrency custody service in Germany within weeks, with an expansion into the Asian market planned for 2027. The move is part of the digital asset strategy of one of Germany’s largest banks.
According to the co-head of Deutsche Bank’s corporate banking division, the service is slated to launch in Germany within a few weeks and in Asia in 2027. The staged rollout will bring the bank’s custody offering to institutional clients in Europe and Asia.
The service is expected to initially support Bitcoin ($BTC), Ethereum ($ETH), USDC, EURC and the euro-pegged EURAU stablecoin. Clients will not have to manage their own wallets or private key infrastructure to hold and transfer their assets, Deutsche Bank said.
Wallet technology and key security will be provided by Deutsche Bank. The bank’s broader plan covers cryptocurrency custody services in both Europe and Asia, with the Germany launch serving as the first step.
