Pump.fun Goes Perpetually Serious: Memecoin Hub Adds 40x BTC Lev via Hyperliquid 🚀

—By our DeFi Desk1 min read

Pump.fun, the Solana-based memecoin launchpad, has launched perpetual futures trading through a direct integration with decentralized exchange Hyperliquid, moving beyond its token-minting origins into leveraged crypto derivatives. Eligible users can now access $BTC perpetual contracts with up to 40x leverage and $ETH perpetuals with up to 25x leverage directly through Pump.fun's existing interface, without holding the underlying assets.

The rollout follows the discovery of perpetual trading data inside Pump.fun's application programming interface on October 9, which surfaced funding rates, open interest, and trading volumes sourced from Hyperliquid's HyperCore mainnet. Rather than build a separate derivatives engine, Pump.fun routes orders to Hyperliquid's existing order books, allowing traders to tap into the exchange's liquidity while interacting with Pump.fun's front end.

Under the arrangement, HyperCore handles order matching, margin balances, funding payments, and liquidations, with Pump.fun providing user access through its native trading interface. The expansion comes as Hyperliquid continues development on its perpetual futures platform, including ongoing work to bring commodity futures to regulated U.S. markets. The integration is live for eligible users as of the latest update from Pump.fun.
