When Wall Street sleeps, tokenized stocks wake up trading onchain 🌙
Tokenized equities are increasingly finding their busiest hours when Wall Street is not open, with more than 70% of tokenized stock trading volume on BNB Chain now occurring outside the traditional 9:30 am to 4:00 pm Eastern session, according to Blockworks data cited by The Kobeissi Letter. Solana and Base are showing similar patterns, at 63% and almost 60%, respectively, suggesting that around-the-clock access is becoming a defining feature of onchain equities. Jupiter reported a 50% month-over-month increase in tokenized asset trading volume, while RWA.xyz data put the value of tokenized stocks at nearly $3.3 billion, up 15% over the past 30 days. The US Securities and Exchange Commission's innovation exemption is now allowing qualifying platforms to trade tokenized US-listed stocks on public blockchains, subject to disclosure and shareholder protection requirements, though offerings such as xStocks and Ondo Global Markets remain largely unavailable to US investors. Separately, Bitcoin treasury company Strive disclosed in a Tuesday SEC filing that it purchased 3,311 BTC during the week ending Oct. 9 at an average price of roughly $84,500 per coin, bringing total holdings to 32,773 BTC and making it the fifth-largest publicly traded corporate Bitcoin holder. CEO Matt Cole said investors exercised $208 million in warrants, with about $15.3 million still outstanding ahead of Tuesday's expiration.
