Dacity Coin Lands on a GTA 6 Plane and One Trader Banked a 22x Before a CEO Could Talk Shop
A Solana meme coin called Dacity Coin surged roughly 2,900% in the hour after Rockstar's GTA 6 launch trailer aired on Thursday, jumping from a market capitalization of about $104,000 to $3.18 million after the token's name was visible on a plane in the footage. At the 54-second mark, a man stands on the aircraft's wing holding a pink flare while "DacityCoin AudaCity" is painted along the fuselage. The token, ticker $DACITY, later retraced about 53% from that peak and was last near a $1.5 million market cap.
The coin was not a surprise to a small group of traders. Dacity Coin launched on October 11, 2026 on the Solana launchpad Pump.fun, hitting a peak market cap of $1.14 million before sliding to $144,700 the next day and trading sideways for several days, according to DEX Screener data. The token was created five days before the trailer, following the leak from a hacker known as "Cyberleek" who shared GTA 6 gameplay revealing the in-game reference. Trader @Corey_Ape wrote on X that $DACITY was "confirmed in the game," adding, "This is the 100m runner we've been waiting for early not wrong on my pump call out."
Some early buyers were richly rewarded. According to DEX Screener, 24 traders profited more than $10,000 on the token, with the top trader turning $1,912 into $44,000. Other previously leaked screenshots show the game's protagonist Lucia skydiving with an "AudaCity" parachute that displays the words "Quit your job. Sell your house. Move [ineligible]." According to the GTA wiki, Lucia is asked to parachute as a stunt to advertise the AudaCity brand and attract investment to the Dacity Coin, and the in-game framing appears to satirize the antics meme coin creators have used to promote their projects, such as the 2024 stunt in which Decrypt reported a man set himself on fire to promote his token while others smoked drugs on livestream, pretended to be a dog, or recklessly fired a pistol out of a window.
Dacity Coin is the first confirmed appearance of a cryptocurrency reference in GTA 6, arriving after years of rumors about play-to-earn features, NFT-owned properties, and a dedicated in-game blockchain, none of which were substantiated. Whether the token will remain a recurring element of GTA 6 or a passing background prop is now the focus of trader speculation, with a February 2025 precedent in mind when Fortnite added a fake crypto coin called Dill Bits and a Solana copycat hit a market cap of $4 million.
