DriveWealth hops on the XRP Ledger, giving RLUSD a transatlantic runway 🛫
Ripple has struck a partnership with fintech firm DriveWealth to fold the company's stablecoin and payments infrastructure into DriveWealth's global network, a move aimed at broadening the use of $XRP and the RLUSD stablecoin for cross-border settlement. The agreement was disclosed in a press release and positions DriveWealth to integrate Ripple's stablecoin stack for settlement in Europe, with plans to extend that infrastructure into the U.S. while leveraging RLUSD on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), including mint and burn capabilities.
Under the terms, DriveWealth will also plug into Ripple Payments to support cross-border transactions from its global partners. The release framed the tie-up as a convergence of stablecoins, payments, liquidity, custody and prime brokerage across DriveWealth's existing infrastructure. Ripple said the collaboration brings together its suite of products to give DriveWealth's partners broader access to digital-asset rails across regions.
The partnership targets two operational tracks. The first centers on stablecoin settlement, where RLUSD will be used on the XRPL to support European transactions, with the capabilities and reported in Ripple's announcement of combining tokenized money movement. The second centers on Ripple Payments, through which DriveWealth and its partners will route cross-border flows using $XRP and other supported digital assets.
The announcement did not disclose contract values, transaction volumes, fees or a definitive timeline for the U.S. rollout. Both companies described the integration as additive to DriveWealth's existing brokerage and custody services, with RLUSD functioning alongside traditional settlement layers rather than replacing them. The press release also did not name any initial launch partners or corridors beyond Europe.
DriveWealth, which provides brokerage infrastructure for digital and traditional assets, said the integration would allow it to offer clients stablecoin-based settlement and faster cross-border payments without building the underlying technology in-house. Ripple, the San Francisco-based payments and crypto firm, continues to position RLUSD as a dollar-pegged stablecoin built for enterprise use cases, with the DriveWealth deal adding another institutional on-ramp to the asset's distribution network.
