Binance Hands EPIC and QUICK a Five-Stage Exit, and the Charts React in Real Time 🪦

—By our Exchanges & Companies Desk2 min read

Binance will delist Epic Chain ($EPIC) and QuickSwap ($QUICK) on October 28, removing all spot trading pairs for both tokens after its latest periodic review. The exchange cited trading volume, development activity and team commitment among the factors it considers when deciding to drop assets. Both tokens had spent months under Binance's Monitoring Tag — a label Binance attaches to tokens it considers more volatile or risky than its other listings — with $QUICK added on April 30 and $EPIC added on May 22, and a warning that tagged assets may eventually fail listing criteria.

The announcement moved prices within minutes of going live. $QUICK fell about 10% below its pre-announcement level on Binance before paring losses to 6.69% lower roughly 17 minutes later, according to TradingView data. $EPIC slid about 9% from its pre-announcement level and then recovered, trading 5.61% above that mark within the same window. Steep losses after Binance delisting notices have repeated across recent rounds: in August, $ICX and $SCRT sank to fresh all-time lows, losing 12.5% and 18.8%, $PIVX dropped 19.27%, and $PYR shed 18.31% after separate announcements, while $VANRY was the exception, trading 8.23% higher despite early losses.

Binance outlined a staged wind-down across its products. On October 15, the exchange will suspend margin borrowing for both tokens and remove them from its Buy & Sell Crypto service. On October 20, users can no longer open new futures positions, Binance will settle all $EPIC and $QUICK contracts, close outstanding loans, remove both tokens from margin trading and drop them from Binance Pay. On October 21, Spot Copy Trading will delist both pairs and force-sell any remaining assets at market price, and Simple Earn will redeem Flexible and Locked positions into users' Spot Accounts.

Spot trading ends on October 28, when all open orders will be removed and Trading Bots will stop running on both pairs, with Binance Convert and Gift Card services also dropping the tokens. Deposits of $EPIC and $QUICK will no longer be credited to user accounts on October 29, and Binance will stop processing withdrawals of both tokens on December 28. The exchange said it may convert any leftover balances into stablecoins on December 29, though it added that conversion is not guaranteed. The schedule gives leveraged traders 6 days to close positions and 2 weeks to exit spot holdings before spot trading ends.
