Binance's Mining Pool Logs Off: Pool Party Over After Six Years of Hashing It Out ⛏️

Binance will discontinue its crypto mining pool and several related services on Nov. 10, the exchange said Tuesday, ending an operation that has been running for more than six years. The closure covers Binance Pool, Pool Savings, Cloud Mining, and Transaction Accelerator, along with Telegram hashrate alerts, email notifications, and mining pool APIs.

"As part of our ongoing review of products and services, Binance will discontinue Binance Pool and related services on 2026-11-10," Binance wrote, adding that the exchange would begin disconnecting mining connections and disable Binance Mining Pool Stratum URLs and mining endpoints on the cutoff date. Hashrate submissions and mining shares submitted after 7:00 UTC on Nov. 10 will no longer be accepted, processed, or credited, and no new rewards, yield, or service benefits will accrue after that time. Eligible outstanding rewards, balances, refunds and settlements will be processed after 7:00 UTC on Nov. 11, subject to applicable product rules, account status, risk controls, compliance checks, and applicable laws.

The exchange urged miners to redirect their computing power to alternative mining pools before the deadline to avoid interruptions, and advised holders of active Pool Savings subscriptions to redeem and unsubscribe prior to termination. After the shutdown, Binance said it would disable its mining endpoints and disconnect miners from the pool, with users given until Nov. 24 to access historical mining records and payout information before the pool's pages become permanently inaccessible.

Binance Pool launched in April 2020, initially supporting Bitcoin ($BTC) mining before expanding to other cryptocurrencies, and ranked ninth among Bitcoin pools at the end of 2025 with about 26 exahashes per second, or 2.3% of the network, according to Hashrate Index. One exahash per second equals a quintillion guesses every second at the puzzle that earns a block. Cointelegraph reached out to Binance for more information but did not receive an immediate response.

The shutdown comes as Binance expands into traditional finance. On June 1, the exchange opened access to more than 7,000 US stocks and ETFs for customers outside the United States, with zero commission and fractional purchases from $5, according to co-CEO Richard Teng. The exchange has also previewed bStocks, a feature that lets users mint tokenized versions of shares on the BNB blockchain, with Nest Trading as broker-dealer and Alpaca Securities as custodian. Binance closed its centralized NFT service on July 3, directing users to migrate tokens to Binance Wallet, its self-custody wallet.
