Binance Pulls the Plug on Its Bitcoin Pool — Miners Get Until 11/10 to Jump Ship ⛏️

Binance will discontinue its crypto mining pool and related services on Nov. 10 at 07:00 UTC, the exchange said in an announcement published Tuesday, ending an operation launched in April 2020 that initially supported Bitcoin ($BTC) mining before expanding to additional cryptocurrencies. The shutdown covers Binance Pool, Pool Savings, Cloud Mining, and the Transaction Accelerator, along with related features including Telegram hashrate alerts, email notifications, and mining pool APIs. "As part of our ongoing review of products and services, Binance will discontinue Binance Pool and related services on 2026-11-10," Binance wrote. The company did not provide a specific reason for the decision.

After the cutoff, Binance said it will begin disconnecting mining connections and disabling its Mining Pool Stratum URLs and mining endpoints. Hashrate submissions and mining shares submitted after 07:00 UTC on Nov. 10 will no longer be accepted, processed, or credited, and affected products will stop generating rewards and yields. Binance will process outstanding rewards, balances, refunds and settlements after 07:00 UTC on Nov. 11, subject to applicable product rules, account status, risk controls, compliance checks and applicable laws, with eligibility determined in accordance with the applicable mining pool product terms.

Binance Pool ranked ninth among Bitcoin pools at the end of 2025, with about 26 exahashes per second, equivalent to 2.3% of the network, according to Hashrate Index. A mining pool combines the computing power of many miners and splits block rewards based on each participant's contributed work, while Cloud Mining let users buy hashrate without owning hardware and Transaction Accelerator helped push through slow Bitcoin transactions caused by low fees or network congestion.

The exchange urged miners to redirect their computing power to alternative mining pools before the deadline to avoid interruptions, and advised users with active Pool Savings positions to redeem or unsubscribe before the closure. Users will have until 07:00 UTC on Nov. 24, 2026 to access historical mining records and payout information, after which Binance Pool pages will become permanently inaccessible.

The shutdown arrives as Binance expands into traditional finance. On June 1, the exchange opened access to more than 7,000 US stocks and ETFs for customers outside the United States, with zero commission and fractional purchases from $5, according to co-CEO Richard Teng, and previewed bStocks, a coming feature for minting tokenized versions of shares on the BNB blockchain. Binance also closed its centralized NFT service on July 3, directing users to Binance Wallet, its self-custody wallet, with then-CEO Changpeng Zhao having used the phrase "smooth sunsetting of old products" in 2023. Cointelegraph reached out to Binance for more information but did not receive an immediate response.
