Singapore Gulf Bank Teams With BNY So Your USD Can Finally Clock Overtime 🌙

—By our Markets Desk2 min read

Singapore Gulf Bank has integrated BNY's round-the-clock USD transfer network, allowing eligible retail and corporate clients to move funds on weekends and US holidays when traditional banking rails are closed. The arrangement makes Singapore Gulf Bank one of the first financial institutions globally to adopt BNY's 24/7 service, which routes eligible USD transfers between qualified accounts of correspondent banks registered with BNY and qualified accounts of BNY itself.

The expanded infrastructure lets businesses top up accounts, process payments and execute cross-border treasury transactions outside US banking hours, with retail clients also able to initiate eligible transfers. Ali Moosa, Executive Vice Chairman of Singapore Gulf Bank, framed the move as a response to cross-time-zone client demand. "Our clients work in different markets and across time zones, and the needs of their businesses are not confined to traditional US banking hours," Moosa said.

BNY EMEA head of global payments and trade Bana Akkad Azhari said the service would help institutions manage liquidity and meet immediate payment needs. The partnership extends Singapore Gulf Bank's footprint in digital-asset settlement, following its earlier tie-up with Kraken parent Payward for institutional crypto transactions. Terms of the BNY agreement, including transaction limits, fees and onboarding timelines, were not disclosed.
