XRPN rings Nasdaq with 473M XRP, a new CIO, and one very confused ticker 🪙
Evernorth Holdings completed its business combination with Armada Acquisition Corp. II on October 9, finalizing a SPAC merger that brings the company onto Nasdaq under the ticker $XRPN, with warrants trading as $XRPNW. Common stock is expected to begin trading on October 12, with Evernorth scheduled to ring the Nasdaq closing bell on October 14. Armada Acquisition Corp. II is sponsored by Arrington XRP Capital Fund, and its shareholders approved the deal on September 30; the original October 8 listing was pushed back following an October 6 SEC filing, with Evernorth citing administrative matters.
The company enters public markets holding approximately 473 million $XRP, currently worth around $657 million, alongside approximately $300 million in gross cash proceeds before transaction expenses. Evernorth has described itself as the largest publicly traded XRP treasury company, with backers including Ripple, SBI Group, Arrington Capital, Pantera Capital, Kraken and GSR. CEO and founder Asheesh Birla, a former senior Ripple executive, said the company aims to "grow XRP per share over time" through yield generation, lending, liquidity provision, decentralized finance strategies, tokenization and broader blockchain infrastructure investment.
On the same day as the listing, Evernorth named Hugo Jeandesboz as Chief Investment Officer, hiring him from Coinbase Asset Management, where he served as Co-Chief Investment Officer. Jeandesboz will report to Birla and oversee treasury allocation, liquidity management and the active management of the company's XRP holdings, serving as the primary contact for trading counterparties and custodians. The appointment underscores Evernorth's active treasury model, under which the company deploys its $XRP to generate additional income rather than holding the tokens passively.
$XRPN opened on Nasdaq on October 12, with shares rising as much as 5% in early trading according to Yahoo Finance data. The $XRP token itself was recently trading around $1.39 with roughly $1.48 billion in 24-hour volume, giving the token a market capitalization of about $87.8 billion, the fifth-largest among cryptocurrencies, according to Coingecko data. Investors buying $XRPN shares gain exposure to the company's net asset value and strategy rather than direct ownership of $XRP, and the stock's price may move independently of the underlying token.
