XRPL Goes Batch Mode: Network Now Settles Eight Transactions and Calls It a Night 😎

—By our Altcoins & Tokens Desk1 min read

The XRP Ledger's Batch amendment is now live on the mainnet, enabling users to execute multiple transactions within a single operation. XRPScan data shows the feature went live two weeks after the proposal cleared the validator voting threshold, with 30 validators voting in favor and five voting against.

The amendment allows up to 8 transactions to be settled together in one go. XRPL validator Vet described the development as a "massively important functionality for the XRP Ledger to allow crucial use cases for institutions and also retail builders," calling it a "big unlock."

Vet identified several use cases for the Batch feature, including OTC trades, delivery-versus-payment (DvP) settlement, NFT-for-NFT swaps, and trustless transaction execution dependencies. He added that the range of possible applications has no limits.

The rollout of the Batch feature comes as a new version of the XRP Ledger's lending protocol opens for validator voting, introducing additional functionality to the network. The amendment's activation follows its approval by the required validator supermajority earlier in the month, marking another step in the ledger's ongoing protocol development.
