Trump's Ethics Filing: Strategy Buys, Coinbase Sells, and a Side of SpaceX Debt 🍊

—By our Markets Desk2 min read

President Donald Trump's latest financial disclosure report, filed with the Office of Government Ethics, details continued trading activity across crypto-linked equities and major technology companies, including Strategy (MSTR), Coinbase (COIN), NVIDIA, SpaceX, and Meta Platforms. The filings cover transactions reported through August.

According to the disclosure, Trump purchased $1,001 to $15,000 worth of Class A shares in Bitcoin treasury company Strategy. The transaction marks another addition to the president's exposure to MSTR, a publicly traded firm that has accumulated Bitcoin on its balance sheet. Separately, the filing shows Trump sold between $1,000 and $15,000 in Coinbase (COIN) stock. The disclosures list single trades for MSTR and COIN within the reporting window.

Trading in NVIDIA stock accounted for the largest disclosed activity, with six transactions recorded in August — five purchases and one sale. The filings list combined buys of up to $1.6 million and sales of up to $1 million in NVDA shares during the period.

The disclosure also reports a purchase of SpaceX debt valued at up to $5 million in August, in addition to trades in Meta Platforms (META) stock alongside the cryptocurrency and technology transactions. As previously reported, Trump earlier purchased MSTR shares worth between $51,001 and $115,000 in Strategy.

The president has not publicly commented on the individual stock selections listed in the filing. Federal ethics rules require periodic public disclosure of securities transactions by officials across branches of government, with reporting bands set by statute.
