Stonks Go Onchain: Securitize Drops 12 Tokenized Equities on Solana, SECZ Pops 10%

—By our Markets Desk2 min read

Securitize has launched a tokenized U.S. equities product on Solana, giving eligible investors in the U.S., the European Union and other permitted jurisdictions onchain access to 12 major stocks — including Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Alphabet, Tesla, Meta, Amazon, Netflix, Circle, Strategy and Palantir — each backed one-to-one by an underlying share. The offering, called Securitize Stocks, settles in USDC and trades through Securitize's regulated broker-dealer platform on a Solana-based automated market maker, with Jump Trading providing liquidity during extended hours before a planned move to 24/7 trading.

Each token represents a security entitlement under Article 8 of the Uniform Commercial Code, preserving shareholder rights such as dividends and, where applicable, voting, and giving holders the option to convert their entitlement into registered shares where issuers allow it. "Tokenized stocks should give investors more than a price on a wrapper that tracks a stock and is only offered offshore," said Carlos Domingo, Securitize's chairman and CEO, framing the rollout as a way to bring equities onchain "without leaving behind the ownership, investor protections and market infrastructure that make U.S. capital markets work." The shares backing the tokens will not be lent out.

Securitize (SECZ) shares climbed roughly 10% on the day of the announcement, following a Tuesday partnership with South Korean technology firm LG CNS to explore tokenized funds, equities and stablecoins for financial institutions. SECZ began trading on the New York Stock Exchange via a Cantor Fitzgerald-backed SPAC merger, recently changing hands at $12.75 and gaining about 54% over the past month according to Yahoo Finance data.

The company has lined up additional distribution and collateral pathways, naming Ripple Prime and decentralized lending platform Aave as partners for institutional trading services and onchain collateral use. Securitize said its tokens are also expected to trade on the New York Stock Exchange's planned 24/7 venue and the OKX-ICE tokenized-securities venture, though neither platform has set a launch date. The launch lands amid a broader push into tokenized real-world assets, with distributed asset value excluding stablecoins reaching $38.88 billion as of Thursday, up from $25.36 billion a year earlier, according to RWA.xyz data.
