SAP It Up: Circle and Tereina Plug USDC and EURC Into the World's Largest Enterprise Checkbook 🧾
Circle and Tereina announced a partnership on October 7 to integrate the USDC and EURC stablecoins into Tereina's payment infrastructure, with initial deployment inside SAP Cloud ERP and SAP Pay for eligible business customers. The arrangement is designed to let finance teams send and receive stablecoin payments directly from the enterprise applications they already use, without adopting a separate blockchain payment system. USDC will be used for dollar-denominated transactions, while EURC will handle euro-denominated transactions.
Arc, Circle's layer-1 blockchain focused on stablecoin payments and financial markets, will serve as the preferred blockchain for enterprise stablecoin settlement across eligible SAP workflows. Arc uses USDC for transaction fees and supports more than 20 fiat-backed stablecoins, including USDC and EURC. Circle launched the Arc mainnet less than a month before the partnership was announced.
Tereina provides payment infrastructure that companies can embed into business software, and the two firms said they plan to run customer pilots and treasury training over the coming months, with broader enterprise stablecoin payment use cases to follow. SAP's ecosystem generates 84% of global commerce, according to the announcement, giving the integration potential reach across a large base of corporate customers.
Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire said stablecoins are becoming part of global payment infrastructure and that the partnership can help bring USDC and EURC into "everyday business operations." Tereina CEO Cedric Bru said the goal is to make enterprise blockchain settlement accessible inside existing financial workflows tied to SAP.
