XRPL's $2.2B Commodity Crown Rests on One Very Tired Energy Token ⚡

—By our Markets Desk2 min read

A single energy-linked token accounts for the bulk of tokenized commodities on the XRP Ledger, according to RWA.xyz data, with one asset representing roughly 89% of the ledger's commodity value. RWA.xyz lists JMWH at $2.23 billion, supported by 37.15 million tokens and 165 holders, and classifies the product as a represented commodity on XRPL. The figure places JMWH ahead of the diamond collections that make up most of the ledger's remaining commodity listings.

The largest listed diamond collection, DIA-AD-COL1, is valued at $105.2 million, while other Ctrl Alt collections range from $13.7 million to $46 million. The concentration means JMWH is far larger than any individual listed XRPL commodity apart from itself, a structure that limits what chain-level commodity totals reveal about issuer breadth or product diversity.

The comparison with Ethereum shifts depending on the metric used. The primary-source account cites about $2.2 billion in annual net commodity inflows for XRPL against $1.6 billion for Ethereum. By asset value, RWA.xyz lists Tether Gold at about $2.91 billion across multiple networks, including Ethereum, while Paxos Gold is listed at about $1.79 billion on Ethereum. Tether Gold's distributed value cannot be assigned exclusively to Ethereum because the dashboard does not isolate a single network.

RWA.xyz records the figures on its commodities dashboard, where JMWH is shown as the dominant entry for XRPL. The dashboard's per-asset breakdown lists total value, token supply, and holder count for each commodity, allowing direct comparison across issuers and product types. XRPL's commodity total is therefore heavily tied to the performance and classification status of JMWH.

The concentration underscores that XRPL's headline commodity figure is driven by a single product rather than a diversified market of tokenized assets. Diamond collections, the next-largest category, contribute a combined value well below JMWH on their own. The RWA.xyz data shows XRPL's tokenization lead in commodities is real in aggregate but narrow in composition, with JMWH serving as the primary engine behind the ledger's $2.2 billion commodity total.
