Goldman Sachs: Tesla's AI Ambitions Now Outweigh Its Q3 Earnings 🤖
Goldman Sachs analyst Mark Delaney has maintained his $360 price target on Tesla while reiterating a Neutral rating, according to a report from Coingape. The price target sits below Tesla's recent share level of $378.73. While the bank sees potential for a turnaround in Tesla's automotive business, including a Model Y ramp, it views the company's physical AI activity as a more significant driver of the stock than third-quarter earnings per share.
Delaney identified robotaxis, Full Self-Driving, and humanoid robots as key focus areas within Tesla's AI strategy. The company is also expanding its AI infrastructure through custom AI inference chips, the Optimus autonomy systems, foundation models for robotics, and a digital AI system designed for computer-based tasks. Tesla has stated that its AI plan extends beyond vehicles to include robots and applications, framing these efforts as part of a broader technology portfolio.
Tesla delivered 486,532 vehicles in the third quarter, a figure that exceeded forecasts and provided a supportive short-term backdrop heading into earnings. Investors are now watching to determine whether that delivery pace carries through to financial results. Goldman Sachs has noted that rising costs and elevated capital expenditures could weigh on performance, potentially constraining any gains into 2026 relative to broader Wall Street expectations.
