NYSE Goes 24/7 Without Asking Permission: 60+ Stocks Including $NVDA, $AAPL Hit the Blockchain 🍿
A planned 24/7 blockchain-based venue from crypto exchange OKX and Intercontinental Exchange, the owner of the New York Stock Exchange, will offer tokenized versions of more than 60 U.S. stocks, according to a document filed by the joint venture OKXICE. The filing, published Oct. 5, 2026, lists Nvidia, Tesla, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon and Alphabet among the equities slated for tokenization, along with crypto-linked firms Coinbase, Circle, Robinhood, Strategy and Securitize. Also named are JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, Walmart, Netflix, Reddit and Boeing, with the list covering both household tech names and traditional finance heavyweights.
Each token would be backed one-for-one by an underlying share held by a registered broker-dealer, the filing said, meaning one Nvidia token would correspond to one Nvidia share. Token holders would retain the economic and shareholder rights that come with the stock, including dividends and voting rights. Trades on the platform would be settled against blockchain-based liquidity pools using stablecoins rather than processed through a traditional order book, the companies said, allowing positions to be opened or closed at any hour.
Inclusion in the filing does not guarantee every stock will ultimately trade on the venue. The document outlines a 30-day window during which issuers can object to having their shares tokenized, and Cerebras was cited as an example of a company that already opted out. TD Securities analysts wrote in a report on Monday that "no symbol is a given," underscoring that several listed names could still be removed before launch.
The platform could test whether there is durable demand for round-the-clock trading of U.S. equities, a service that traditional brokerage hours currently do not offer. Tokenization broadly refers to representing a real-world asset, such as a share of stock, on a blockchain so it can be transferred and settled outside legacy market infrastructure, a structure that has drawn interest from both crypto-native firms and incumbent exchanges seeking new distribution rails. Corporate objections, fragmented liquidity and the temporary nature of the regulatory relief cited in the filing could all shape how widely the venue is adopted once it goes live.
The joint venture's plans arrive as tokenization has moved from pilot projects into operational offerings at major financial firms, with stablecoins increasingly used as the settlement layer for tokenized assets. The OKXICE filing provides the most detailed public roadmap yet for how a regulated U.S. venue might combine traditional share ownership with blockchain-based trading and 24/7 market access.
