Strive Adds 2,000 BTC, Pushing Its Bitcoin Stash Closer to the 30K Club 🟧
Strive, the Bitcoin treasury company co-founded by Vivek Ramaswamy, purchased 2,000 BTC for roughly $169 million at an average price of $84,422 per coin between September 28 and October 2, according to a company filing with the SEC. CEO Matt Cole confirmed the acquisition, bringing Strive's total holdings to 29,462 Bitcoin, valued at about $2.53 billion at recent prices. The firm also reported $284.7 million in cash and cash equivalents, with $50.2 million in STRC stock, and disclosed that 61.5% of capital for the buy was raised through SATA preferred shares, with warrants generating $56.7 million.
Strive generated 18.5% in BTC yield in Q3 2026, acquiring 8,137 Bitcoin during the quarter at an average cost of $78,885 per coin. Year-to-date, the company has increased its Bitcoin holdings by more than 290%, positioning it to potentially become the fourth-largest corporate Bitcoin treasury. Shares of Strive's parent, listed on Nasdaq as ASST, rose more than 2% on Monday after a nearly 140% rally in Q3.
The latest purchase marks Strive's largest Bitcoin acquisition in four months, surpassing the 2,500 BTC it bought between May 23 and June, which had previously brought its stack to 19,000 coins. The company has scaled its holdings steadily through the year, reporting 14,557 Bitcoin by late April, 20,246 BTC by mid-August, and reaching 29,462 BTC as of October 2 following the September agreement to acquire Semler Scientific, a healthcare technology firm holding roughly 5,000 Bitcoin that shareholders approved in January.
SATA shares, which carry a $100 stated amount and currently pay about 13% annually in adjustable dividends, supplied 70% of capital in the week ending September 4 and 85% in the week ending September 25, according to prior filings. Strive's average cost basis stood at $90,170 per Bitcoin at the end of September, above the roughly $86,000 where $BTC traded on Monday, putting the position on paper below its acquisition cost.
Strive now ranks fifth among public Bitcoin holders, behind Strategy, Twenty One Capital, Metaplanet and MARA, per Bitcoin Treasuries data. Twenty One holds 43,514 Bitcoin, leaving Strive 14,052 coins short of that total.
