hashbank Banks on a World Where Your Wire Transfer and Your Wallet Finally Hold Hands 🤝

Zug, Switzerland-based W Group has rolled out an upgrade to hashbank, a fully licensed digital bank that allows customers to receive digital assets from external wallets and send them to external blockchain addresses directly inside a single mobile banking app, the company announced on October 5, 2026. The platform, which first received a full banking license from the National Bank of Georgia in 2023 and went live in 2024, supports more than 150 digital assets and now serves approximately 60,000 customers across 73 countries.

The integrated model is designed to remove the routine friction of moving between a bank, a crypto platform, and an external wallet to complete a single transaction. Within the mobile application, customers can receive a digital asset from an external wallet, exchange it for fiat, and use standard bank services, or send digital assets to an external blockchain address. Transfers are protected by authentication, address verification, anti-money-laundering procedures, and blockchain analytics. hashbank is positioned as the first fully licensed bank in the South Caucasus and Central Asia to offer this combined model inside its mobile banking application.

The offering pairs the banking app with direct integration to WhiteBIT, alongside cross-border and everyday banking services for both individuals and businesses. "By introducing this service, hashbank sets a new precedent for banking in Georgia and the wider region, strengthening the bridge between traditional banking and digital assets. Our ambition is to make borderless banking a practical reality - giving customers greater freedom to move and use their money, while making everyday banking simpler and digital assets more familiar and accessible," said Gog (full name truncated in the source release), a hashbank executive.

W Group framed the launch as part of a broader strategy to connect Web2 and Web3 infrastructure rather than to operate exclusively in either. "We are not building businesses that exist only in Web2 or only in Web3. The biggest opportunities will emerge between them. Our task is to build the infrastructure - bridge - that allows these worlds to work together. hashbank is one example of this strategy. It is a fully licensed digital bank that is open to new financial networks and capable of connecting different currencies, platforms and systems," said Volodymyr Nosov, Founder and President of W Group.

The release did not disclose fee schedules, specific transaction limits, or a timeline for adding additional asset support beyond the 150 already listed. No tickers such as $BTC or $ETH were referenced in the announcement, and the company did not detail regulatory arrangements outside Georgia.
