Ripple Drops 1B XRP Bombshell, One Analyst Still Sees $30 Moon 🌙
Ripple released 1 billion XRP from escrow on Tuesday in a series of four transactions recorded on the XRP Ledger, with the unlocks executed in tranches of 100 million, 300 million, 400 million, and 200 million tokens. The move comes as XRP trades within a short-term consolidation range, according to market analyst CrediBULL Crypto, who warned the token could revisit $1.25 in the near term before any significant upward trajectory.
Despite the large supply event, CrediBULL Crypto maintained an optimistic long-term outlook on XRP. "$XRP is gonna have one of the greatest runs of the cycle, even greater than $ETH in terms of ROI off the lows imo," the analyst wrote, later adding, "Im personally expecting $20-$30, but $15 is a good start." The analyst linked this projection to broader expectations for the crypto market, stating that the total market capitalization of the industry could "realistically hit 10B+" by the end of the cycle.
The 1 billion token unlock adds to circulating supply at a time when XRP has been trading in a compressed range, fueling discussion among traders about how the market will absorb the newly released tokens. On-chain data on accumulation patterns and exchange flows has become a focal point for market participants attempting to gauge the impact of the supply increase on short-term price action.
The escrow release is part of Ripple's ongoing programmed unlocks, which periodically inject XRP back into the market from a custody account established by the company. Ripple has historically used portions of unlocked tokens for sales, grants, and other operational needs, while returning the remainder to escrow.
