Muneeb Ali trades "founder" cap for "CEO" hat — STX wakes up +30%

Stacks ($STX) climbed to $0.385, gaining roughly 19% over 24 hours on CoinGecko, after breaking above the $0.34 resistance level in an overnight move that extended the token's September rally to about 50% on the month. The Bitcoin Layer-2 network's native token briefly topped the 30% range intraday before settling near its current level.

Muneeb Ali, founder of Stacks, is set to become CEO of Stacks Labs on October 15, a transition the project has framed as the start of a new growth phase. The leadership announcement arrived as four institutions participated in the Genesis Bond, bonding approximately 250 BTC ($BTC) into the program. Earlier reporting cited 230 BTC and 310,000 STX committed during the program's first 14 days.

The Genesis Bond is designed to channel BTC into Stacks' Bitcoin-anchored layer, where the capital supports staking and Bitcoin-secured settlement. Stacks positions the program as a way for institutions to deploy BTC into yield-generating activity while keeping assets rooted in Bitcoin's base layer.

The price action and leadership transition come as the broader crypto market digests the renewed institutional flow into Bitcoin-adjacent infrastructure.
