Four Rails, One Stablecoin: OUSD Pulls a Multichain Hat Trick 🎩

—By our Altcoins & Tokens Desk1 min read

Open Standard's OUSD stablecoin has officially launched, supported natively on Ethereum, Solana, Base, and Tempo, with Bridge serving as its issuer. The stablecoin is backed by a consortium that includes Coinbase, Stripe, Mastercard, Visa, BlackRock, Ripple, and others.

In a blog post, Open Standard announced that the platform offers four integration paths through Coinbase, Stripe, Mastercard, and Visa. "All paths support mint and burn functionality at a 1:1 USD conversion rate, at no cost," the post stated. Reserves are held by BlackRock, Lead Bank, and BNY.

The launch follows Open Standard's initial unveiling of the stablecoin three months ago. OUSD operates under a collaborative governance structure in which partner firms share earnings generated from its reserves.

OUSD is available across exchanges starting with Coinbase, Kraken, and Uniswap, with additional exchange listings planned over time. According to Open Standard, the multi-rail architecture is designed to let users access the stablecoin through whichever partner interface they prefer, while maintaining a unified 1:1 USD conversion across all networks.
