Bitwise Gives NEAR a $155 Roadmap, a $563 Ceiling, and a $1.63 Reality Check 🧮

Bitwise has placed an institutional price target on NEAR Protocol, projecting a base case of $155.85 by 2030 in a 39-page investment report authored by CIO Matt Hougan and Head of Research Europe Andre Dragosch. The report also outlines a max case of $562.81 and a bear case of $1.63, with the base case implying roughly 30x upside from a spot price near $5. The max case implies more than 100x. The report was published the same week Bitwise filed the final prospectus for its U.S. spot NEAR ETF under the ticker NRR on NYSE Arca, carrying a 0.75% fee and a stated intent to stake 100% of holdings.

The $155 figure is anchored to a single thesis: NEAR becomes the settlement rail for autonomous AI agents. Bitwise models 328 million agents on the network by 2030, each executing 1,000 transactions per year at a $5 average value, with a 0.3% protocol fee flowing back to token holders. Applied against a 50x valuation multiple, the framework produces the $155.85 base-case price. The 328 million agent figure represents approximately 2% of a projected global agent population of 16.4 billion. Bitwise stated that the base case assumes successful execution rather than reflecting a midpoint probability across outcomes.

The ETF filing and the research note landed within days of each other, giving institutional investors a tradeable vehicle alongside the long-dated forecast. Bitwise has framed NRR as a wrapper around the staking-inclusive exposure to NEAR, with the 0.75% management fee disclosed in the prospectus. The bear case of $1.63 sets the floor in the model, more than 60% below the current spot level, underscoring the range of outcomes Bitwise attached to its projection.
