Hunter Biden's LAPTOP Token Down 99.9%—Insider Wallet Hasn't Sold a Single Coin, Apparently đŸ¤¥
Hunter Biden, son of former US President Joe Biden, pushed back on allegations that the team behind the memecoin LAPTOP pocketed an eight-figure sum, insisting that no tokens have been sold from the project wallet to date. He challenged whoever authored the profit calculation to disclose the wallet address allegedly used for those sales, arguing the claim that the team cashed out tens of millions of dollars does not hold up.
LAPTOP's market capitalization has fallen below $25 million, representing a loss of roughly 99.9% from its launch value. The original report suggested the project team may have earned at least $10 million from the token, a figure Biden disputes. He previously described the post-launch situation as "appalling" and said the relevant accounts are under review.
The LAPTOP team has also rejected the suggestion that the steep post-launch decline stemmed from selling by the team or insiders. In their account, thin liquidity during the early phase and activity from automated "sniper bots" magnified price swings. They added that the 30% token allocation set aside for founders was locked for six months and is scheduled to vest gradually over more than two years.
Biden's denial centers on the absence of on-chain evidence from the project's own wallet, and his request for an address is aimed at shifting the burden of proof onto whoever circulated the profit estimate. Neither side has produced a full transaction trail in public.
The dispute has kept LAPTOP in headlines well after its launch, with market data showing the token trading far below its initial valuation and no team-wallet sales documented at the time of reporting. *This is not investment advice.
