Cop or no cop, Elliptic's new AI reads your crypto wallet like a fortune teller 🔮
Blockchain analytics firm Elliptic has launched an artificial intelligence product designed to let any police officer interpret cryptocurrency evidence in the field without specialized blockchain training. The tool, called Pulse, was announced Wednesday and accepts wallet addresses or transaction hashes, returning a plain-language financial summary within seconds. Elliptic said the output is meant to help frontline personnel decide on the spot whether a case warrants escalation, whether the crypto surfaces on a suspect's phone, in a scam victim's records, or during a search, arrest, or overdose scene.
If deeper investigation is needed, a single click forwards the full analysis, along with reasoning and officer field notes tagged to a case number, into Elliptic's existing screening and forensic-tracing products or an agency's own workflow. Elliptic said the design allows a detective who picks up the case later to work without needing blockchain expertise. "We built Pulse because we see crypto across every law enforcement agency now, not just specialized units," said Jackson Hull, Elliptic's chief technology officer.
Pulse runs on the same intelligence that powers Elliptic's investigator-grade platform, which the London-based company says screens more than 99% of crypto trading volume and covers over 65 blockchains. Elliptic also framed the launch around a governance framework it published this month for agentic AI, emphasizing human oversight, model transparency, and leaving final judgment with the officer rather than the AI.
The release extends a high-profile year for the company. Elliptic raised $120 million earlier this year from backers including Nasdaq and Deutsche Bank. Its research has appeared in major enforcement actions, from a U.S. Secret Service crypto freeze tied to a Telegram marketplace to the Department of Justice's seizure of infrastructure linked to billions of dollars in laundering, and findings on Iran's central bank acquiring USDT.
