Whales Empty Their Pockets Onto Binance, XRP Plays Musical Chairs 🪙
Whale deposits of XRP to Binance climbed to roughly 1.6 billion tokens over the past 30 days, the highest level since March 2026, according to on-chain analytics firm CryptoQuant. A QuickTake published September 18 by analyst Arab Chain flagged the surge, which reversed a months-long slide in large-wallet inflows to the exchange. Arab Chain cautioned that the movement reflects trading or reallocation activity rather than a confirmed intent to sell.
Binance's own XRP reserves have drifted higher alongside the inflows. Reserves had been trending toward 2.69 billion in June as selling pressure eased, while a more recent print from data provider Finbold places the figure near 2.623 billion, a 69-day high versus mid-July. The shift marks a reversal from earlier in the year, when coins were steadily leaving the exchange rather than accumulating there.
The positioning backdrop adds another layer. CryptoQuant noted that stretched long positions and roughly $1.7 billion in spot XRP ETF inflows have left XRP near $1.30. Arab Chain stated that the next five to ten sessions will serve as the real test for the asset. The combination of rising exchange reserves, elevated whale deposits, and crowded long exposure underscores the fragile balance between demand from ETF buyers and the supply now sitting on Binance awaiting disposition.
