Two Prime Puts $10M Skin in the Bitcoin Yield Game 🟧

—By our DeFi Desk1 min read

Two Prime has launched a bitcoin lending vault on Pareto, targeting annual yields of 1.5% to 2% by extending credit to institutional borrowers, with the digital asset financial services firm committing roughly $10 million of its own capital as first-loss protection.

The Axiom WBTC Yield Vault accepts wrapped bitcoin (WBTC), a token representing bitcoin that can be used on other blockchain networks, and requires a minimum deposit of 5 WBTC, equivalent to roughly $400,000 at bitcoin's $75,987.29 price. Returns are subject to market conditions and are not guaranteed.

Two Prime, which provides institutional investment strategies and bitcoin-backed lending, is using the vault to expand into onchain finance, connecting bitcoin holders seeking income with institutions seeking access to bitcoin funding. Targeted borrowers include public companies, credit-rated entities and diversified financial institutions.

Pareto supplies the blockchain-based private credit infrastructure underpinning the vault, while ICE Digital Trust and Copper Technologies will hold its assets in custody. The firm was founded by Alexander Blume, who serves as CEO.

The launch reflects Two Prime's broader effort to bring its institutional lending book onchain, following years of operating bitcoin-backed lending products for professional clients.
