UAE Drops Avalanche Into 12.5M People's ID Vault — $AVAX Climbs 3% on the News 🏔️
The United Arab Emirates is folding Avalanche blockchain technology into its national digital identity system, giving the network a sovereign-scale use case. The integration was announced on September 14, 2026, by the UAE's Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) alongside consultancy firm Deca4 and Ava Labs. Once live, the system will support the Digital Vault inside UAE PASS, the country's flagship digital ID app, which is used by more than 12.5 million citizens, residents and visitors and provides access to over 15,000 services across more than 350 government and private sector entities.
Rather than running on Avalanche's shared network, the UAE deployment will operate on a dedicated Avalanche L1, giving regulators greater control over access and configuration. The setup is designed to let users securely store, request and share verified government documents, with the blockchain used to confirm authenticity for items such as trade licenses and academic certificates. Avalanche described the project as "one of the largest real-world, nation-state use cases for public blockchain infrastructure to date."
The move adds the UAE to a growing list of governments experimenting with Avalanche for public services. The California Department of Motor Vehicles previously digitized 42 million vehicle titles on a custom Avalanche L1 to streamline transfers.
Following the announcement, $AVAX rose more than 3% to roughly $7.48, with 24-hour trading volume climbing about 14% to $249 million. Technical levels cited by traders placed immediate resistance near $7.50, with a break above that potentially opening a path toward $7.65, while $7.37 stood as nearby support.
