The XRP Ledger has overtaken Stellar in total stablecoin supply, reaching $1.092 billion and ranking 12th among blockchain networks, while Stellar slipped to 13th with $968.67 million, according to DeFiLlama data cited in industry reports. XRPL's stablecoin supply expanded 14.29% on the period, against a 5.87% decline for Stellar, and rose roughly 13% over the past week compared with a 6.5% weekly drop for its rival. Over the same window, $XRP rose about 20%, outperforming $XLM during the recent market rally.

Ripple USD (RLUSD) is responsible for most of XRPL's stablecoin footprint, accounting for 90.49% of the network's stablecoin supply and putting RLUSD on XRPL at more than $988 million. Ethereum retains the larger RLUSD position at approximately $1.08 billion, having reclaimed the lead after a period in which XRPL had briefly surpassed it.

The stablecoin's longer-term ambitions were amplified by Thinking Crypto host Tony Edward, who cited comments from Ripple's Stablecoin Chief Jack McDonald. "Jack is eyeing a customer base that handles roughly $13 trillion in transactions annually," Edward said in a YouTube video, framing payments and capital markets as the principal growth drivers. Edward pointed to Ripple's payments and bank partnerships, the acquisition of GTreasury, and the continued build-out of the XRP Ledger as supports for RLUSD's expansion, and noted that "Clearpool Finance proposes migrating to the XRP Ledger," a move tied to new lending standards on XRPL. The discussion also referenced the upcoming CLARITY Act vote, with Edward posting a clip captioned, "PREPARE! CLARITY ACT UPDATES ARE HAPPENING NOW TO PASS THE BILL! BIG RIPPLE XRP RLUSD NEWS!"
