Wyoming lets Chainlink watch the stablecoin that watches itself 🏔️
Wyoming has adopted Chainlink Proof of Reserve to publish near-real-time onchain data on the reserves and token supply of its state-issued Frontier Stable Token, the Wyoming Stable Token Commission said Wednesday. The system combines independent examinations by The Network Firm with Chainlink's oracle infrastructure, layering live reserve data on top of the daily attestations Wyoming already publishes for FRNT.
The move arrives against a federal backdrop set by the GENIUS Act, which requires monthly disclosures of reserve composition and outstanding stablecoin supply. Commission officials said the integration will give more timely visibility into changes in FRNT's backing between those monthly reports. The commission also said it is working to adopt Chainlink's Secure Mint feature, which would require verified reserves to equal or exceed FRNT's total supply before any new tokens can be minted.
FRNT, launched in January, is backed by US dollars and short-term US Treasurys, with interest income from those reserves deposited into Wyoming's School Foundation Program. The new integration follows Wyoming's full migration of FRNT from LayerZero to Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol roughly two weeks ago, a shift that made CCIP the token's exclusive cross-chain infrastructure.
Chainlink has expanded across tokenized equities, stablecoin settlement and traditional market infrastructure in recent months. The network became the pricing-data provider for Coinbase's B20 tokenized equities following their August launch on Base, supplying feeds for stocks including Apple, Nvidia, Meta and Alphabet to support DeFi uses such as lending, trading and collateral. In June, Chainlink joined European and South Korean banking groups in Project Pangea, which is exploring regulated euro- and won-denominated stablecoins for atomic foreign exchange settlement.
In the United States, the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation said in May it would integrate Chainlink technology into a planned 24/7 platform for managing tokenized collateral, and Fidelity International launched a tokenized liquidity fund that month using Chainlink and Sygnum infrastructure, with JPMorgan providing daily net asset value data for pricing. Chainlink's LINK token was trading at around $11.07 on Wednesday, up more than 34% over the prior month, according to CoinGecko.
