Robinhood Chain Logs $1.6B DEX Day as Meme Coins Out-Eat the Tokenized Salad 🥗
Robinhood Chain's decentralized exchange (DEX) volume climbed 61% between Aug. 28 and Sept. 1, rising from $989 million to $1.595 billion, according to DeFiLlama. The Arbitrum-powered Layer 2, launched on July 1, also held $738.11 million in DeFi deposits and nearly $797 million in stablecoins as of Sept. 1. Separately, DeFiLlama recorded $353.96 million in daily perpetual futures volume and $2.524 billion in assets bridged to the network.
On Aug. 30, the chain processed 5.5 million transactions, with daily DEX volume hitting $874.8 million — a single-day record at the time — before crossing $1.06 billion within days, per Dune data. Token launchpad volume reached an all-time high of $394.4 million, while real-world asset activity totaled $165.5 million, also a record. Tokenized value on the chain reached $51.81 million, led by $40.76 million in stocks. Uniswap routed almost 95% of the Aug. 30 total across three versions: Uniswap v4 at $432 million, v3 at $356.9 million, and v2 at $40 million.
Meme coins powered much of the early activity, eclipsing the tokenized stocks at the center of Robinhood's initial pitch. Cash Cat (CASHCAT) became the first breakout token within a week of launch, climbing to successive highs and topping the chain's trading tables. CASHCAT trades at $0.215, up 3.1% in 24 hours, with a $212 million market cap, after climbing roughly sixfold in August to $0.253 on Aug. 27 and then ranging between $0.175 and $0.245 on thinning volume. Its four-hour volume of roughly 147,000 sits well below PONS at 440,000. Pons (PONS) led every token on Aug. 30 with $67.38 million in volume, 135,566 trades, and 12,670 unique traders, per Dune. PONS trades at $0.443, up 20.4% in 24 hours with a market cap near $300 million, after rising more than 370% over seven days from a $0.328 base to a record $0.39 on Aug. 30; it had drifted between $0.030 and $0.045 for three weeks before Aug. 23 and then ran roughly 11x to a high just under $0.49. Artificial Inu (AI) trades near $0.185 after starting August below one cent, holding more than $3.3 million of liquidity against NVDA — roughly triple the depth of its WETH pool — while several unrelated tokens also use the AI ticker. Nine of the 20 most-traded tokens on Aug. 30 launched on ponsfamily.com, and PONS, GMGN, and Uniswap together captured close to 88% of application revenue, according to DefiLlama.
In an August interview with Decrypt's FOMO Hour, Robinhood crypto chief Johann Kerbrat said the chain had processed more than 200 million transactions. He described its strategy as balancing "two wolves": conventional financial products and the speculative tokens that attract crypto traders. The network supports round-the-clock trading of tokenized stocks, which eligible users can lend or use as collateral, and entered public testing in February 2026 before its July 1 mainnet launch.
