Prom Crashes Korea's Altcoin Party and Even XRP Has to Step Aside 🎉

—By our Altcoins & Tokens Desk2 min read

Prom ($PROM) emerged as the top-traded altcoin across South Korea's two largest cryptocurrency exchanges over a 24-hour period, posting combined volumes that outpaced every other token on Upbit and Bithumb. $PROM recorded approximately $115.2 million in trading volume on Upbit and $24.3 million on Bithumb, totaling roughly $139.5 million across the two venues.

$XRP, which had previously dominated Korean altcoin rankings, slipped to second place with combined trading volume of about $97.5 million. Boundless (ZKC) followed at $78.7 million, while zkPass (ZKP) registered approximately $67.2 million, and Official Trump ($TRUMP) reached $58.8 million across both exchanges.

On Upbit specifically, $PROM, ZKC, ZKP, and $TRUMP each posted 24-hour trading volumes exceeding those of Bitcoin and Ethereum. Bithumb's top performers after $XRP were Helium ($HNT) and $PROM, with $HNT also appearing among the combined leaders at roughly $36.7 million.

The broader combined ranking of altcoins over the same 24-hour window included Seeker (SKR) at $42.3 million, DAPPOS (DOS) at $35.7 million, Solana (SOL) at $24.7 million, Bounce (AUCTION) at $18.7 million, Ontology Gas (ONG) at $18.1 million, Bitlayer (BTR) at $17.7 million, PolySwarm (NCT) at $16.9 million, o1.exchange (O) at $11.6 million, and Worldcoin (WLD) at $9 million.

The data underscores continued appetite for mid- and small-cap tokens on Korean retail-heavy platforms, where single-day altcoin turnover can rival or exceed that of the largest digital assets by market capitalization. The reported figures reflect combined Upbit and Bithumb trading pairs and do not constitute investment advice.
