Ethena's BlackRock Glow-Up Has ENA Stuck in the Friend Zone 💔
Ethena's synthetic dollar USDe is now backed by BlackRock's BUIDL fund and integrated into BlackRock's Aladdin platform, an institutional risk-and-portfolio system that serves clients with over $20 trillion in total managed assets. The partnership, announced on June 29, places USDe alongside tokenized money-market products used by some of the largest asset managers in the world. Ethena has also said BUIDL will serve as the primary backing asset for an upcoming white-label stablecoin.
The institutional tie-up has not translated into a sustained price recovery for ENA. At press time, ENA traded near $0.07127, only marginally above its $0.06993 cycle low. Each rebound attempt has stalled below the 23.6% Fibonacci retracement at $0.07663, and On-Balance Volume has flattened between -75 million and -84 million. Price made a fresh low while cumulative volume failed to extend its decline, indicating that selling pressure has eased without reversing into accumulation.
A confirmed break and daily close above $0.07663 would expose $0.08413 and subsequently $0.08748 as recovery levels on the chart. A close below $0.06993 would invalidate the developing base and put the $0.06323 extension in focus. The chart structure remains bearish until buyers reclaim the 23.6% retracement.
On-chain flows point to active positioning around the ecosystem. Santiment data showed $5.7 million in USDe moved to Bybit as one of the top ten deposits over the prior 24 hours, with stablecoins accounting for most of the largest exchange inflows. Separate transfers showed larger holders moving ETH and stETH, consistent with participants managing exposure while keeping capital available for deployment.
Ethena has framed the integration as a step toward broader institutional access to tokenized dollar products, with USDe now operating inside an infrastructure used by managers overseeing more than $20 trillion in assets.
