Stablecoin, Hold the Strategy: WLFI's USD1 Pays for Pentagon-Flagged AI 🧾
World Liberty Financial, the Trump-family-backed crypto firm, is routing payments through its USD1 stablecoin to WorldClaw, a Hong Kong-based AI platform that offers 43 Chinese-developed models — including offerings from Alibaba, Baidu and Z.ai — alongside U.S. systems from OpenAI and Anthropic. World Liberty executive Ryan Fang also serves as an adviser to WorldClaw, according to a Reuters report published on August 17, 2026. Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump have promoted the platform on social media, including a May 5, 2026 post from Donald Trump Jr. announcing WorldRouter, a 300-plus model routing service "settled in USD1" and available on Solana and BNB Chain.
WorldClaw (worldclaw.ai), founded earlier in 2026, lists roughly 90 AI models in total. Chinese providers on the platform include Alibaba and Baidu — both designated by the Pentagon in June as "Chinese Military Companies Operating in the United States" — as well as Z.ai, formerly Zhipu AI, which was added to the Commerce Department's Entity List in January 2025, along with DeepSeek and Moonshot. World Liberty spokesperson David Wachsman said WorldClaw is independent and noted that major U.S. firms also offer Chinese and American AI models. "This is a common and widely accepted approach," Wachsman told Reuters. An Alibaba spokesperson told Reuters the company "is not a Chinese military company nor part of any military-civil fusion strategy," called the Pentagon designation "arbitrary and capricious," and said it would sue to have it removed. The financial terms between World Liberty and WorldClaw, and how much the Trump family has earned from the arrangement, are not disclosed.
The disclosure lands as several Chinese AI firms available on WorldClaw face separate accusations of model-distillation attacks on American developers. In February, Anthropic alleged that DeepSeek, Moonshot AI, and MiniMax used roughly 24,000 fraudulent accounts to generate more than 16 million exchanges with Claude through distillation, a technique in which one model learns from another's outputs. In June, Anthropic urged Congress to tighten export controls and penalize large-scale model extraction. "We believe combating the threat of illicit distillation requires coordinated action between government and industry, and we will continue working with Congress and the administration to maintain American AI leadership," an Anthropic spokesperson said.
The Trump family holds a reported 38% stake in WLFI and has pulled more than $1.4 billion from token sales. The WorldClaw news follows the OCC's recent conditional trust bank charter for WLFI, which helped lift USD1's circulating supply past $4 billion even as the $WLFI token remains down 61% year-to-date. Every USD1 payment on WorldClaw generates reserve yield that flows back to World Liberty Financial, according to the Reuters report.
