Robinhood Lands in the UK Crypto Ring: Zero Fees, 50 Tokens, Bitstamp in Its Corner 🥊

—By our Exchanges & Companies Desk2 min read

Robinhood Markets on Monday said it will roll out crypto trading to eligible UK customers this week through Bitstamp UK, adding more than 50 cryptocurrencies to its app, including Bitcoin ($BTC), Ethereum ($ETH), XRP, and Hyperliquid. The launch extends Robinhood's UK offering beyond its existing lineup of stocks, ISAs, options, and futures, positioning the all-in-one platform for a broader push into British digital-asset markets.

The fee structure accompanying the rollout is built around a no-commission model. Robinhood confirmed there will be no trading fees, no account maintenance fees, and no custody fees on crypto holdings. Users will, however, incur a 0.1% foreign exchange fee, which can rise to 0.3% for certain weekend conversions, an expense tied to fiat on-ramps and off-ramps rather than the trade itself.

The company also disclosed plans to introduce a new analytics feature called Cortex Digests for Crypto, designed to deliver real-time analysis of digital-asset markets to retail users. Robinhood framed the tool as part of its wider strategy to expand the crypto ecosystem within its app, layering execution and research into a single interface for UK customers.

Markets reacted in early trading. Shares of Robinhood parent HOOD climbed 0.77% to above $94 in Monday premarket action following the announcement, reflecting investor response to the firm's latest international expansion. The UK rollout arrives as Robinhood continues to scale its crypto footprint across multiple jurisdictions, with Bitstamp serving as the regulated venue for order routing and custody integration.

Eligible UK users can access the new crypto trading functionality inside the existing Robinhood app once the Bitstamp-powered service is activated for their account this week, according to the company's Monday statement. The launch marks the formal entry of one of the largest US retail brokerages into the UK crypto market under a fee model that removes commissions while retaining FX-based charges on currency conversion.
