Uniswap Crashes the Launchpad Party With $0 Fees, $150M Pre-Launch Volume 🦄
Uniswap launched Pools.trade on August 5, its own token-launch platform built on Robinhood Chain and powered by its v4 protocol. Founder Hayden Adams said traders discovered earlier versions of the smart contracts before the interface went live and pushed more than $150 million in volume through them, forcing the team to support both the test and final versions of the contracts at the same time and pushing back the official launch. Adams noted Uniswap has effectively served as a launchpad and launchpad infrastructure for over eight years, since new tokens have always launched into Uniswap pools.
The platform ships with day-one support across the Uniswap web app, wallet, and trading API, plus third-party venues including Bitget, Fomo, GMGN, and OKX Wallet. Two launch formats are available: an instant launch similar to other launchpads, and a "crowd launch" designed to be more resistant to bundling, the sniping tactic where insiders grab large allocations at the open.
Pools.trade charges 0% in fees. Uniswap is already the default exchange on Robinhood Chain, where launchpads including Pons have competed for share. Since the launch, DEX volumes on Robinhood Chain have rebounded 50% from local lows and daily transactions are up 50%, with Pools.trade capturing 50% of launchpad volume and 40% of new tokens launched.
Separately, a volunteer group calling itself the Bitcoin Red Team has filed 4,962 security findings across 390 Bitcoin projects in roughly 30 hours, running what it describes as a "large-scale ecosystem audit" with AI agents doing much of the scanning. The group operates under a pseudonym, and details of the methodology and individual findings have not been independently verified.
