Founder Declares ELIZAOS Dead, Treasury Zero, Comeback Plan: None 🪦

—By our Altcoins & Tokens Desk2 min read

Shaw Walters, founder of Eliza Labs, declared the ELIZAOS token finished on August 4, 2026, after a class-action lawsuit settlement exhausted the project's remaining treasury, sending the token to a record low near $0.000289. The settlement closed the book on one of the AI-agent cycle's most prominent names, with Walters stating there would be no buybacks, no supply reductions, and no replacement token tied to the Eliza brand.

The immediate trigger was a settlement with Burwick Law, which had filed a federal class-action suit alleging misleading marketing, deceptive business practices, and investor harm connected to the AI16Z project and its later migration to ELIZAOS. Walters said the foundation lacked the capital to contest the claims in court and surrendered its remaining funds to settle, leaving zero treasury and, in his words, zero support infrastructure for the token going forward. He added that he retains ownership of the IP and intends to start a new venture with no future token attached to the Eliza name.

In a lengthy post on X dated August 4, Walters wrote: "Look. I worked my ass off to the point I got a frozen shoulder and severe health issues from overworking and typing, and it was never enough. We built cool shit but it was completely ignored because number down." Holders were explicitly told not to expect any organized financial support from the project side.

The lawsuit settlement was the terminal event, but the decline was already structural. The original AI16Z token launched on Solana during the late-2024 AI-agent boom and reached a combined ecosystem valuation of roughly $2.4–2.5 billion across Eliza-styled tokens before the project migrated and rebranded to ELIZAOS. Subsequent drawdowns pushed the token down approximately 97% from prior highs prior to the final blow, with the post-settlement declaration crystallizing the loss for residual holders.

With no treasury, no buyback mechanism, and a founder publicly stepping away, the token now trades on secondary markets without any committed support from the issuing team.
