ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood on Aug. 5 acquired more than $54.6 million worth of Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ: SPX), Nvidia Corp. (NASDAQ: NVDA), and Circle Internet Group Inc. (NYSE: CRCL) shares across multiple exchange-traded funds, according to the firm's disclosed trades. The purchases were made through ARKK, ARKQ, ARKW, ARKF, and ARKX and coincided with SpaceX's latest quarterly loss and a mixed financial performance by Circle.
SpaceX was the largest single acquisition in the batch. ARK bought 181,830 shares of SpaceX, valued at approximately $19.69 million at the most recent closing price of $108.27, with the transaction recorded in June. The stock closed the day down 13.61%. Circle was the second-largest line item, with ARK purchasing 273,343 shares worth about $17.30 million at the stock's last price of $63.28. Circle shares ended nearly flat, rising 0.05% on the day.
Nvidia rounded out the top three. ARK acquired 80,415 shares of the chipmaker, valued at $17.63 million based on the closing price of $219.22. Nvidia shares closed up 3.43% from the opening price. The trades were disclosed as second-quarter earnings season continued across the broader market, with results from the three companies drawing varied analyst reactions.
